Rehoming resources

If you're considering rehoming your pet, we recognize how difficult this decision can be, and we're here to support you through the process.

Are you struggling to cover your pet’s medical expenses or supplies? We can help!
Do you need in-patient treatment and can’t take care of your pet for only a short while? They may be able to stay here!
Are you having trouble finding a place to live with your pet? We have a list of options!
Does your pet have unwanted behaviors that concern you? We have trainer referrals!

Self-Rehoming

Our goal is to first empower you to rehome your pet directly with a new family. This approach helps prevent your pet from experiencing stress or mental decline in a shelter environment, as well as reduces the risk of disease. Since you know your pet better than anyone, a direct transfer of ownership ensures they find the best possible home.

Courtesy Listing
We invite you to have your senior listed for adoption on our platform using Rehome by Adopt A Pet, one of the most widely used rehoming websites in the US. Your pet will also be listed on our website on our Courtesy Listings page for our senior-loving audience to see! You will be asked to pay Rehome a small listing fee (between $5 and $50 based on the type and age of your pet). Use this referral coupon code that takes 90% off the listing fee: FFF94074

Rehoming with FFF

If you have exhausted option for self-rehoming, have a safety concern for you or your pet, or an urgent need to rehome, please fill out this Rehoming Questionnaire. Our service is unique, and the need for it is overwhelming. Adoptive families of Frosted Faces are eligible for free medical care at our on-site clinic. This program increases senior pet adoptions and helps owners keep their pets. If an adoption does not work out, we always take our pets back into our care. For this reason, there is a $2,000 surrender fee for FFF to assume lifelong care of your pet. Grant opportunities are available for those who qualify.

We will contact you to make an appointment to surrender your pet which helps us plan ahead. There are circumstances where we may not have space, or a pet is not a candidate for adoption. Our veterinarians may determine your pet is suffering and there is not a treatable way to restore quality of life. Furthermore, we cannot place animals with aggression issues that are dangerous to other members of the community. We love animals and are here to help. If you have additional questions or would like to speak with an adoption counselor, please email placement@frostedfacesfoundation.org.
