Microchip Scanning Station

Ramona, CA is 28 miles and approximately 45 minutes from the open admission shelter that holds the government contract for our jurisdiction. While it is required to report found pets within 48 hours, a lot of lost and found pets in our area could be reclaimed locally if we identified their families and/or marketed them using flyers, door knocking, and social media in that time!

We welcome our community to come by anytime to scan found pets for a microchip, and we are happy to share a crate, slip lead, and food to hold the pet locally for the first 48 hours while we advocate for them to be reclaimed. Our address is 1448 Pine Street, Ramona, CA, 92065.

Remember, stray pets are LOST PETS and reuniting them with families before entering the shelter system is one way to get to the root of shelter overpopulation. Our Frosted Funding program also helps families to cover fencing repairs and impound fees to keep pets safe with their families.
